Family Photoshoot in the Shropshire Hills

This photoshoot was a dream come true. A family so connected, so in tune with each other and overflowing with tenderness and love, all set against the most dramatic backdrop.

I photographed Rose, Rowan and baby Arrowyn as part of a workshop hosted by the wonderful Elisha Pickles back in April. It was the end of a full day of shooting and after a hair-raising drive from Ludlow into the Shropshire Hills I got out of the car to find this beautiful family ready to brave the icy winds and let us capture their magic.

With plenty of cuddles and pauses for reassurance and the odd breastfeed, they explored this breathtaking location together as the sun set, watched over by curious (and very friendly) sheep. The results were more than I dreamed of and capture everything that is most precious to me in my own journey of motherhood; smiles, laughs, moments of connection, the tiny hand wrapped around my fingers and the way my daughters gazed up at me with love as they fed.

I’m lucky enough to be based only 30 minutes from Dartmoor national park and I’m so keen to photograph more families against such a rugged backdrop. Please reach out if this is something you’d be up for!
